A claim states that Iran's national Greco-Roman wrestling team secured its championship title at the world championships in Kazakhstan by winning gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Official coverage from United World Wrestling (UWW) and international news outlets confirms that at the 2026 World Wrestling Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, Iran's national Greco-Roman wrestling team secured the team championship title [1], [2].
Reports show that the Iranian squad clinched the team victory early after winning multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals across various weight classes [3], [4]. These results included gold medals by Gholamreza Farrokhi, Danial Sohrabi, and Fardin Hedayati, as well as multiple silver and bronze medals [3], [4].
Because the official results confirm the team's medal haul and its championship victory at the event in Kazakhstan, the claim is evaluated as true [1], [2], [3], [4].
